Our Services
What makes Young Consultants different?
We deliver a unique “Two-in-One” approach. Most agencies just provide care (tasks like washing and feeding). We combine professional care with active mentoring.
This means we don’t just support you to exist; we support you to progress. We help build confidence, emotional regulation, and independence skills alongside daily support.
Who do you support?
We support adults and young people aged 16+. We specialise in supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health needs, Dual Diagnosis, and those transitioning from children’s to adult services.
Where do you operate?
We work across North and East London boroughs including Redbridge, Haringey, Newham, Havering, Barking & Dagenham, and Waltham Forest. We also cover neighbouring Essex authorities.
Care, Safety & Staffing
Will we see different staff every day?
No. We know that inconsistency increases risk and anxiety. We do not use a revolving door of agency staff. We match a small, consistent team to each individual to build trust and genuine relationships.
How do you manage challenging behaviour?
We use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). We believe behaviour is communication.
Our staff are trained to identify triggers early and use proactive de-escalation strategies. Our goal is always to reduce stress and prevent crises before they happen, using the least restrictive practice possible.
Are your staff trained and vetted?
Absolutely. Every staff member undergoes Enhanced DBS checks, right-to-work verification, and rigorous referencing. They complete mandatory training in Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, First Aid, and PBS before working independently.
Referrals & Funding
How is support funded?
Most of our placements are funded by Local Authorities (Social Services) or the NHS (CCG). We also accept Direct Payments (where families manage the budget) and private funding. We can help guide you through the process.
How quickly can support start?
This depends on the complexity of needs and funding approval. For crisis situations, we can often mobilize a team within 24-48 hours. For standard transitions, we prefer a planned introduction period to ensure compatibility.
